Creating Standard Views of Solid Parts and Assemblies
Introduction

PART 1

In this project you master the skills required to place orthogonal and sectional views of solid assemblies on drawing sheets using the SOLVIEW and SOLDRAW commands. You will find the tools demonstrated in this project useful if you want to quickly document parts created with AutoCAD's solids modeling commands.

You learn how to:

  • Place scaled orthogonal views in layouts
  • Derive new views from existing views.
  • Create section views of solid models.
  • Specifying the hatch patterns used to hatch cross sections.
  • Control the scale of hidden lines in automatically generated drawing views.
  • Create 3D views of solid models and assemblies.

You will find the source files required for this project in the 2609.exe self-extracting executable. To unpack the source files, select the .exe file then specify the folder in which the file should be placed on your local hard disk.

From the Windows Start menu, choose Run, then select the .exe file. Choose OK then specify where you want the drawing files placed.
